Beijing Expo Unveils Tech Future Across Six Innovation Zones

The 28th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo runs May 8 to 10 at the China National Convention Center and will feature six thematic zones that point toward upcoming products and developments in core technology sectors.

Information Technology Zone Focus

This zone connects directly to Beijing's established base of 2,200 to 2,500 AI-related enterprises that account for nearly 40 percent of China's total AI companies and generate over 450 billion yuan in core industry output annually. Exhibits are expected to highlight next-stage applications of these capabilities in local workflows.

Intelligent Manufacturing Zone Focus

The intelligent manufacturing zone aligns with municipal support for AI-driven upgrades, including subsidies reaching up to CNY 30 million for general-purpose intelligent agents and AI models plus up to CNY 50 million for pilot production lines. Beijing businesses already using AI workflows have recorded 30 percent faster growth than competitors amid rising labor costs.

Green Technology Zone Focus

Green technology presentations will build on regulatory steps already taken in the city, such as the issuance of China's first catering business license to a robot. These efforts form part of broader integration of embodied intelligence into service industries and support for one-person companies through new incubation hubs in Shijingshan District.

Additional zones will extend coverage across the remaining thematic areas to present a coordinated view of future roadmap items. The overall program draws on Beijing's position as a central hub for AI enterprises and related policy measures that encourage pilot projects and grassroots innovation models.
