National Olympic Sports Centre Stadium and District Sites
The National Olympic Sports Centre Stadium served as the main venue for the Next Gen Beijing Cup, providing competition pitches and spectator areas for teams from multiple countries. In Xicheng and Mentougou districts, local facilities accommodated the 2026 Youth Martial Arts Tournament in January, where nearly 1,300 athletes from 87 organizations competed across 138 subcategories. The 2026 Happy Run International Youth and Family Sports Carnival took place on May 30 with over 500 participants from 31 diplomatic missions and local families using public park routes and open spaces.
School Grounds and Emerging Sports Facilities
Primary and secondary schools launched the citywide Class Super League in spring 2026, scheduling approximately 400,000 matches to integrate physical activity into the school day. Beijing schools have also prepared spaces for BMX, pickleball and rock climbing as part of the emerging sports push. Nearly 600 participants joined the June Happy Run event that drew diplomats' children alongside local youth, using established running circuits and family-friendly areas.
These venues and school facilities have recorded steady use through the first half of the year, with 99.7 percent of Beijing primary and secondary schools conducting class-based competitions. Organizers continue to allocate existing infrastructure for the Class Super League and district tournaments without new construction timelines announced.
